Valgehobusemäe Rodeo

Võistlushooaeg on täies hoos!

Täna toimus Valgehobusemäel juba teist aastat slopestyle vormis võistlus Valgehobusemäe Rodeo. Pelgalt 7 tunni pärast hakkan juba liikuma Läti poole, kus toimub homme Volcom'i Peanut Butter Rail Jam (PBRJ).

The Estonian Championships were held today at Kuutsemägi. The weather was nice and the park was freshly shaped. It was a perfect riding day!

There were only 3 competitors in the girls class and 2 in the womens class, so to find out who would be the Estonian Champion in womens slopestyle, the girls had to compete with the women. Suprisingly, only we, girls, reached the finals, securing our places with some nice 36s. I'm happy to say, that I managed to do all the tricks the way I planned to and that I won the gold medal! So, not only am I the best girl snowboarder in Estonia, but also the best woman!

In my opinion, all the riders were pretty equal, it's just that today was my day!

But now were going off celebrating and although I was the only member of Chickapow to compete today, I'm sure we'll see the others competing next year!

Peace!

Pesamuna sünna

Mirjam-Kimil on täna sünnipäev!!!!...teoreetiliselt

Tegelikult on tal 29.02 sünnipäev

Peab tõdema et ilma videote ja piltideta blogi on ikka nii igav...no picture no proof, samas mul on alati väike kaamera oma ipodina kaasas. Kui keegi seletaks mulle kuidas neid videosi sealt arvutisse saada oleks oleks päris lahe.

icecold

The weekend was really nice! I visited Kuutsemägi and since the landings weren't icy at all, I decided to practice my 18. That meant that I was soon landing my first proper 36s. It was the first time that I really felt like I was in total control of my board and I felt more comfortable in the air than ever before. I'm glad I'm developing in such a fast pace and I'm sure I wouldn't be able to do it without my friends.

In addition, there are loads of events coming up this week and I'm not quite sure I'll be able to make it to all of them, but I'll do my best! :)

17.2.11

It's freezing outside!

The temperatures keep on dropping and every day is colder than the previous one. It's permanently about -25 degrees outside and whenever you want to go outside, you have to wrap yourself up in a dozen different layers of clothes just so your limbs won't fall off. But we don't complain! As long as the cold weather means more snow and more riding, we're okey with it.

Despite the extreme weather, chickas have some nice plans for the weekend - there will be a competition held in Latvia, that at least one of us will hopefully be attending. We might have some trouble with the transportation, so if we don't manage, we will probably snowboard at Kuutsemägi. But I'm sure it's gonna be a nice weekend,

See you around!

Back on track!

Over what seems like a hundred years, I finally went riding again. It felt a little awkward at first, because I really had'nt snowboarded at all for about 3 weeks, but pretty soon I was in charge of my board once again.

Today I went riding at Nõmme Lumepark, which is pretty far away from my home, so I don't visit it too often. The park is one of the best in Tallinn, but since just a week ago it was like +3 degrees outside and now the temperatures suddenly dropped to -25 degrees, all the landings were super-duper-icy. Because of that, I really didn't feel like trying anything new, but I practiced some old tricks that I had almost forgotten and it was a nice evening.

There is also a photoshoot competition going on in Nõmme Lumepark. Basically, you just have to be there every Wednesday for a photoshoot and when the competition ends, they pick one of the guys, who showed up every time and give him a prize. Meanwhile, the photos that are taken every Wednesday are loaded up on Nõmme Lumepark's facebook page and the picture, that gets the most likes every week, will get a small treat. :)
My picture is already up, so if you want a chicka to win, you know what to do ;)

Waky, waky, chickas!

I'm quite sure you are wondering, where the hell have we been and why have'nt we written any posts lately.

Well, I don't know about the others, but I've been super-busy with designing a fashion collection for a supercool fasion event, which by the way, takes place in Rotermanni kvartal, at the 11th of February.
I have to admit, that I have'nt even had the chance to go riding these last weeks and I feel awfully bad about it.
But I will assure you, that as soon as my busy-days are over, I'm gonna get back where I belong!

Shred hard,
Mirjam-Kim

ILSD

Jälle üks mõnus nädalavahetus möödas. Laupäeval oli Eestis esmakordselt Ladies' Shred Day.
Nõmme tegi päris hea aruande: Kokku võttis üritusest osa 28 tüdrukut ja 5 neist mäel esmakordselt :) Kõigist osalejatest 35% tahtis õpetajate juhendamisel boxe sõita ja 25% hüppeid lammutada.

Nice weekend has passed by again. On saturday Estonia hosted Ladies' Shred Day for the first time ever. Overall numbers: participants-28( 5 of them for the first time), 35% wanted to ride boxes with instructers and 25% just wanted to hit the kickers.

Päeva lõpus said ka kõik hunniku Surfhouse'i kleepse.

It was so fun to ride all day long and see so many ladies on the slope. Ann's mother had made a big basket full of warm supertasty pies and Red Bull was also handed out to everyone. At the end of the day everybody were also given a big bunch of Surfhouse stickers.
A'C

Huge props to Ann who organized it. Big thanks also to Kert, Maasu and Daniel, who were great instucters and helped everyone who wanted make their first runs on tubes (the round contruction pipes or smt:D) Thanks to Red Bull, Nõmme snowpark and Surfhouse too.
We hope next year it will be even bigger and better.

I'm sorry guys for not writing, but organizing ILSD takes so much time. And all the free time I have, I spend shredding or studying.
Actually I've had a few riding days in Kuutsemäe lately, and they were SO awesome. I hope I'll have time to write about them after ILSD. On Saturday  I was in Tartu and there was a railjam, where I attended. Guess what there was?! BLUEBIRD.. and friendly guys, unfortunately I didn't see any other girls.
And ILSD is the first event I'm organizing in my life. So let's hope it's gonna be ass-kicking awesome. (It's gonna bring together over 40 girls in Estonia, which is unbelievable and cool)

Soon you will be seeing some urban-action from me.. It's only matter of time, when!

19.1.11

I'm tanned, I'm full of energy, I'm back!

As soon as the temperatures started rising in Estonia and the snow started slowly melting, I headed off to the airport and flew to Tenerife - the surfing paradise of the world.

And now I'm back, my head still full of black volcanic Tenerife sand and my cheeks as sunburnt as ever. My batteries are fully loaded by sun and I'm ready for some serious action! See you at ILSD or maybe even at Žagarkalns at the Forum Youngblood competition!

Back at Tenerife, the weather was nice, the waves were gooood and I got my first wave! And I have to admit, I haven't gotten surfing out of my head ever since..

22.jaanuaril on INTERNATIONAL LADIES SHRED DAY ehk ILSD.

MIDA ME SIIS SELLEL PÄEVAL ETTE VÕTAME?

Kõigepealt koguneme kella 12ks Nõmme Lumeparki, soetame piletid (vajaduse korral ka varustuse), teeme väikse soojenduse ja suundume üheskoos mäele.
Kohale tulevad õpetajad, kes on võimelised õpetama sõitmist erinevatel tasemetel. Jaguneme gruppidesse (kes tahavad võivad ju niisama ka sõita!), usinamad saavad pargis trikke õppida ning boxidel keerutada, uuemad sõitjad saavad õppida kõike alates kõige algusest.

Nõmme Lumepark on valmis naistele sel päeval rahakotti rohkem raskust jätma ja RedBull annab naistele selle puudu oleva, et olla ingel (tiivad!).

NÄITAME MILLEKS EESTI NAISED VÕIMELISED ON!
